 Wheels to work

A low cost solution for transport  in getting to work or training.

Wheels 2 Work can offer clients a range of options from 125cc petrol scooters to electrically assisted bicycles for a reasonable monthly rental fee. Included in the rental fee is a full service package, road tax and insurance- all you really need to be riding one of our scooters is a provisional licence and a valid CBT certificate!! There are many schemes available which could help with funding a provisional licence and CBT certificate.

A guide to initial costs

Scooter Hire Overview

For clients who wish to hire a petrol powered scooter they must be in possession of at least a Provisional UK Driving license. This license currently costs £ 34.00 and is valid for 10 years.

The client must also have completed a CBT course and possess a valid certificate. The cost of CBT training can vary, however as an example a local training provider has quoted £ 125.00 for a first-time user and £ 110 for a renewal. These courses are generally completed in a day and on completion you are certified to ride on the UK roads with “L” plates. The certificate is valid for 2 years.

Currently we have three options to offer: -

50cc Sim Jet Scooter.

Ideal for the younger rider, or for those less confident on the roads.

Initial up-front charge (4 weeks rental) 4 x £25 = £100.00

Weekly Rental £ 25 .00 (Ideally paid by weekly standing order) which also includes: Road tax, Insurance, Regular servicing and a security pack (disc lock and chain lock)

Safety Pack which includes A helmet, protective jacket, waterproof trousers, gloves and a high viz vest. This package would normally cost £ 300.00 but we can supply to the client for £ 150.00

For those clients who may not be able to afford the initial expense there are funds available to help them. Clients in this position should speak with their job coach or employment key worker.

125cc Sim Jet Scooter

Ideal for the longer journey, for the more confident rider.

Initial up-front charge (4 weeks rental) 4 x £ 30.00 = £120.00

Weekly rental £ 30.00 (Ideally paid by weekly standing order) which also includes: Road tax, insurance, regular servicing and a security pack (disc lock and chain lock)

Safety Pack which includes A helmet, protective jacket, waterproof trousers, gloves and a high viz vest. This package would normally cost £ 300.00 but we can supply to the client for £ 150.00.

Electrically Assisted Haibike.

Excellent for town journeys, up to 100 km from one charge!

Initial up-front charge 4 x £ 20 = £ 80.00

Weekly rental £ 20.00 (Ideally paid by weekly standing order) which includes a cycle helmet, lights, heavy duty lock, and regular servicing.

For all hire vehicles we must be able to confirm that the client can provide a secure storage environment at their residence. We also require that the client inform us of weekly mileage totals via text or email.

Clients are required to complete a multiple-choice driver-metric test to assure the client is safety aware and familiar with the Highway Code.
